seen it 3 times at work now and the children get more annoying with every watch.not a great film, too much fannying about with nothing happening, but it does have some good sequences and the characters are all recreated very well.

Fixed. Also what's the beef with the His Dark Materials movies, that's the next "series of books with children as the main protagonists that are potentially getting made into a high budget trilogy of movies" that I want to see. Edit: Information here and here, (wiki has spoilers). Interesting/pretinent quote from the wiki one: "Some have called His Dark Materials the antithesis of The Chronicles of Narnia, the seven-book fantasy series by C. S. Lewis. This image has been reinforced by Pullman making public statements accusing Lewis of being "blatantly racist" and "monumentally disparaging of women" in his novels. Furthermore, the Narnia series distinctly favors faith and religion over exclusive rationalism, whereas His Dark Materials seems to advocate the opposite." I'll probaby go and see Narnia but it doesn't look that awesome. | |

Im going to see it at the weekend, i hope im not disapointed. Ive been disapointed with so many of the films ive been to see recently.
The witch looks very scary, but i think thats a good thing. *EDIT* I went to see it on sunday and i thought it was good, the battle scenes were a bit ott but it was good. Lucy was great, so cute. even if she did cry a bit too much..*EDIT* |

I think this movie was very well done indeed. The graphics creating the characters were really impressive, especially in the battle scene.

I'm amazed that Narnia almost beat King Kong in the race to be the Festive period blockbuster. King Kong took $31.4 million and Narnia took $30.1 million. I was expecting Narnia to get beaten comprehensively.
Still i'm hoping for a better effort when the next Narnia adventure comes along. |
