cut out all your midrange and boost the treble and bass on the EQ...
im not particularly familiar with the amp you play, so i dont know any fancy tips or tricks, lol... but yeah, just get rid of as much middle as you can!

yeah really punchy, round and trebly...
lol... take the treble for the trebly, and the bass to add roundness, and take the mids out... just did it on my amp and it sounds pretty much bang on... hehe

no - not all of it
just turn your EQ into a U shape... although from the picture it looks quite limited anyway...

See that wee button which says "bright" on your amp? Hit that, then turn your pre-gain up. And if you can, use a little bit more of your neck pickup than your bridge. That's where I'd start anyway

Well if you like your Peavey, I would suggest you buy a Fender Jazz bass (around £380-400) since that's what the Milestone is based on. £400 might seem a lot if you're paying for it, but it'll last forever

I wouldn't cut all the midrange out, the attack of a bass is around 700Hz the snap at 2.5kHz. You can overuse EQ and end up with something that sounds great on its own, but it'll just sound shit when you blend it with anything.
Dont just put your EQ in a U shape, listen to the record and adjust the EQ till it sounds similar. If it doesnt sound like it, it's because you are using a different amp and a different bass. I haven't heard the song you are talking about but chances are its got a DI blended in on the record too. |
