Stu hamm does some actual solo bass playing with alot of cool solo type stuff in it, also Les Claypool has alot of good stuff too, check out tommy the cat for some nice bass, altho he does a harder solo live. Matt freeman is a fast bassist and knows how to put a good line/solo together but he doesnt know when to just leave it, he overplays in most songs and it gets on my tits

For real good bass u need to check out some African dudes, for some reason they are fucking amazing, all of them!! Check out the Paul Simon Graceland Album, You Can Call Me Al. This dude, Baghitti Khumalo plays an amazing solo, however on the recording its played one way then the tape is reversed and re-recorded, sounds ace, but live he does it properly, LEGEND!
