probably the settings on the pedal, as your amp settings will be the same.

If its not that, its probably just the general set up your using isnt very good! (line 6 spider syndrome!)

don't use too much gain, don't cut out all the middle, don't use too much treble.

something like

dist (gain); 12/1 o clock
mid freq- 11 o clock
mid boost/ cut- 2 o clock
treble, between and 1 and clock o clock
bass- 1 o clock/ adjust to taste
level- adjust to taste (balance up against clean tone when mt-2 is off)

would depend on guitar/ amplifier/ amplifier settings as well though, OBVZ

although it's worth noting that while an mt-2 will never provide legendary tone, it certainly can be passable. with the right guitar/ amp.

im thinking of getting a new amp, i don't have much of a budget at all due to being on the dole. im thinking of selling my peavey valveking 112 to get an ashdown fallen angel 50. the reviews for it online are quite good and i was wondering has anybody used one that could advise on the situation?? any help would be appreciated. i mostly play metal and hard rock.

If you're not able to get the right 'setting' your rigs shit.

if you plug a good guitar into a good amp it should sound pretty awesome whatever you do to it.

This is true, and although I've not heard the fallen angel amp, I'm not convinced by Ashdown's guitar amps. The bass stuff isn't *too* bad.

I reckon for the money you could get something really decent second hand, like an old 5150 combo.

The 5150/6506 combos are nice, but they still go for quite a bit second hand.

getting rid of the valveking to get one of the ashdowns would not be a sensible move, as the valveking is a better amp.

What's the best stuff for cleaning pots, and where can I get it?
Also, what's the cheaper alternative?

Electrical contact cleaning fluid should do the job. Can get it from most electrical places; I got some from that place beside the Whitehall Theatre
