zildjian cymbals are good, no matter what make they are. ok, the ZBT hi-hats are shite, but the crashes are ok-ish and ZXT rides are ok-ish. Saving up for Z or A customs tho. and solars, hmmm, they start off good but then u realise how beginnerish they are. i've got some for sale tho, if ne1's interested.

Is this true?
I have heard from many different sources that you can make quite a convincing kick drum sound from using a large cardboard box used for the likes of TV's, washing machines on it's side, covering up the opening with selotape and then placing a cheap vocal mic in front of it. Instead of using a pedal you just boot it but to make sure it doesn't fly away you have to put a breeze block inside. Anyone ever tried/used this before? Sounds quite bizzare. |

yeah, i always do triplets, its a great exercise to practice with. doin different paradiddles also makes ur accents better as u can out them almost anywhere confidently when u do them. for tom rolls just practice singles or doubles on the snare a lot, maybe a practice pad, but just keep gettin faster and faster. after this move onto the toms and use it in fills. even if u dont like this, play All the Small Things by Blink 182, the break bit is good for practicng tom rolls.
and cymbals weigh a lot, depending what they are made with. generally, the more expensive the cymbal, the heavier. also, snares dont weigh too much, couple of kilos maybe, |

if you have a 22 inch heavy ride, it'll be heavy
if you have an 8 inch light splash it'll be light it all depends on weight and size a full set of cymbals that a metaller will use will be heavy compared to that of a jazzer and the snare depends on the size and material i have a tiny 12 by 5.5 brass snare and its heavy as fuck |
