man i totally agree about blastbeats, they just sound shite, no matter what. However having your hands and feet doing 16ths in unison at 210bpm+ for 30 seconds at a time is an excellent workout, as well as a brilliant way to totally fuck your arms/legs if your technique sucks

i use percussion plus bintins biscuit pro 16", 17" and 2metre cymbals.
edit: oh, and a ride symbol that is made of a lampshade. edit 2: oh, and i have a splishsplosh (one of the really little symbols) that is only 2 miles deep. It goes at 500bpm+ and provides a really good work out for the pinkie sticks i use (model 5b/g) edit 3: oh, and i have hi hats (trilby and bowler) and they cost me 300 quid but the action on them is excellent and allows me to do rudimentary triple quadrant blast fills without even doing my stretches beforehand!

my full cymbal collection consits of
14" sabian pro sonix hi hats (selling them soon to replace with zildjians, anyone interested) 12" zildjian z splash (also selling soon, no need) 16" zildjian z crash 18" zildjian a custom crash 18" un-known crash cymbal, dark and jazzy and fucking gorgeous! 16" zildjian oriental china 21" sabian metal x ride (which is ace) I'm lookin to replace the hi hats with a customs, buy a zilbel to mount on a crash, replace the z crash with a k, and possibly replace the ride with a k heavy ride.... |

i have cymbals, i liek to hit them hard, the big one says UFIP, the 2 Medium ones and the Little ones say Sabian AAX. My pedals say Mapex. My drum kit says Mapex Pro M (SHITE!). I'll have my battered Export anyday!

Pro M's arer great for their price. They are good kits. Check your tuning and heads.
