i've been having a problem with my new bass. its a yamaha rbx 375, active pickups. i was at a band rehearsal a week ago and found that my bass wouldnt make any sound when i plugged it in. it turned out the battery had been drained completely dead over the week after christmas. i thought it was maybe my fault, like i'd forgot to set the eq knobs to flat and had drained it by accident. i've been keeping an eye on it this week and making sure the eq's are always flat so as not to drain the battery, but when i plugged it in earlier to do some recording there was no sound, i havent checked yet but i'm guessing its because the battery is flat. surely the pickups shouldnt drain the battery out so quickly, especially with everything set flat?
any help would be appreciated. do you think i should just take it in to a shop? |

i might be a problem with a loose conection, sometimes if a conection is loose then that can cause power to be drained, best bet mate is to take it into a decent guitar shop and ask their advice and then you can get a good idea of what has happened and what can be done!

erm, this happened to me when i got my ibanez EDA, i think its one of 2 things, i always left the cable plugged in when it was just sitting in its stand, and that drains the battery, plus i recon they put the cheapest of the cheap batterys in as stock, i replaced it with a duracel procell or something, and its been fine, i recently replaced it with another one, but after a year and a half, i think i was pushing my luck with keeping it in

I tuned up all my bass strings really high once and it sounded like a ukelele. Fucking rock and roll man. Oh yeah - If you choon all your strings to the same note then you can do "power cords" with one finger. I wear power cords. They are teh mutts nuts.

Lemon oil ? it cleans and "refreshes" the wood, just loosten the strings a bit, pour some over the frets, then wipe down with a lint free cloth (just a normal cloth with no added chemicals)
Im sure thats the easiest, and best way ? |
