in recent weeks i have discovered that the Sunn Model T makes a great bass amp!

I take delivery of my new Ampeg B5r 500w head tomorrow. Finally dropped off teh Ashdown wagon. My Mag 300 blew one too many times and i played a B2 Ampeg and it was ace and got the B5r brand new for a top price.

Right a quickish question.

My new ampeg has an fx loop. Should i use this for my fx and plug my bass straight into the head or should i just plug through my pedals and into the amp?

It doesnt matter too much either way, unless your effects are higher gain than the amps input can handle, if it is then it'll clip the input and sound crap , and you'll know to use the effects loop

Aye. I tend to run my pedals at a normal level pretty much.

Now i just have to see if my Sans Amp is now redundant with the Ampeg having an Overdrive channel built in....

I dont know about the one you have, but i use my bass driver DI even with my SVT-II, its useful for having overdrive at lower volumes and i like the sound of the DI better than the DI out the back of the SVT

the sansamp should still be useful for you, especially with the B series heads.
