But surely the thread is for people who are genuinely stumped to ask questions? Not for touchy, self-important, know-it-all pricks to show a rudimentary grasp of modal theory.
Since you already *knew* the answer and there was no-one else asking that question, what makes it a "Frequently Asked Question" precisely? |

yeah i am really into neo-classical shred but i respect the fact that it all originates from these early composers such as chopin etc.
but if you think chopin is some 'ballet' classical crap, your wrong! . I used to think that about classical music myself until recently. bach is shit fast, and i mean FAST, and his melody kicks seroius ass. i started getting into it when i watched the film crossroads(the guitar based one not britney spears) and at the end there's a great solo. i later found out thats is a direct rip from some old dead violin dude called paganini. that solo floors any other 'rock' solo easily. how fast is V_fast probably bach tempo! |

Chopin isn't anything like Bach man, apart from the fact they both play piano and have silly names.
A lot of Bach is fast, but most of Chopin's work was slow, for people to dance to. Waltz's and mazurka's. Or 'ballet classical crap'. edit: anyway, this is definately not an FAQ. It definately is a load of arse. Last edited by robs : 17th December 2004 at 04:29 PM. |

1.at time index 2:22 there is a big long pedal tone sequence. and 2. it lasts exacatly 7:42 i know its a really popular one of his so i'm sure if you listen to a few of his most well known pieces and fast-forward to the end you could help me find out what it is. this is my favorite one and i hope to arrange it for guitar and stick in some totally sick blast beats in it. they are some great ideas in it to for crushing power chords w/distorion and then fast double kick. even tho bach wasn't much of a drummer there is plenty of room for some 32nd notes between those 'power chord' like rhythms in that composition. Brandenburg Concerto no.4 part 1 (allegro) is 7:43 but i doubt that's what your on about cos there's nothing special about it around 2:22. there's hundreds of tracks by bach so people will need a bit more to go on, what sort of sound, what instruments playing etc. also, different recordings will be different speeds and hence different lengths.
My guess would be Bach's Toccata and Fugue but i have no idea how long that piece is. |

well theres a pedal in the violin (held note in the higher register?) on that one around 2:24, so give or take a few seconds for different versions. it could be toccata and fugue but the only versions i have are around 9:20
