Y'know i'm will actually make a valid fucking attempt at sparing what cash i can and pick up a few new things the day if i can. My leads always go on me and i haven't got the means to mend them. More often that not it aint because i've forgotten them, it's just i don't have one.
As for the plectums aye, i lost my fucking wallet wich used to be packed with them and never bothered getting another one so i lost the habit of bringing them. I'll admit im very fucking bad at that. |

If you've got a soldering iron (or know someone that has one) you can make quality leads for about 3 or 4 bucks each. If you cant afford 3 or 4 quid then you should try going up to folk in the street and telling them you need a pound so you can get the bus to the hospital to see your dying mum, works everytime... |

and for the double bass comment, you are the only person to mention this to us...and I dont agree, and I dont think you are one to judge drumming styles when you are the one that did the same fill every few seconds in every song.. |

My mum and dad have bought me NOTHING from my kit thats in my room right now. Plenty of pop-punk drummers use a double bass pedal. I don't mind receiving constructive critiscm (although if you want to be a cheeky bastard about it I won't pay attention). I've had plenty of people say they really like my playing as well so I know I'm doing something right. Last edited by Zildjiain : 11th April 2006 at 04:18 PM. |

Fair enough for blastbeats and fast metal drumming, but if its just for going "boom chh boom boom che" really fast then it just sounds lazy. I'm not slagging off your drumming Ian, i think you are a good drummer and improving at a tremendous rate. It's just lazy double kick players in general. Yeah it sounds gimmiky and you can make people think 'woah, he's really fast' but any drummer can see it doesnt take much skill. There is definately a place for double kick as long as it is used tastefully. |

I have actually been working on heel-toe for a while now, I just can't do it.
I know there's some parts in songs where I'm pretty lazy about using double bass instead of a quick double on one pedal, but I hardly use it at all in the 4 new songs, only in the occasional blast beat and fills. |

I'm a total shit for borrowing stuff. My cybals are shite and until i get a job i have no means to replace them. I'm always on the lookout for someone to lend me theirs during a set. bad, i know.
i like this thread. some good advice, like the soundcheck stuff. cheers guys. |
