Our drummer has played the same cymbals for years and doesnt suffer from cracks. If you hit them right then you shouldnt be breaking 3 cymbals in the same number of days...

That's all fine and well, but we're both playing different types of music and you can't deny that this plays a major part in this. I've also played the same cymbals for years but unfortunately they do crack eventually, and three of mine just happened to crack last week. It's not an occurring problem.

The only time we ever borrow off another band without contacting them days in advance is if something goes wrong on the night etc with the equipment we have brought.

We have all had the random lead that worked fine in sound check then suddenly dies as soon as your about to go on

Nah. Neil plays in Friday Night Gunfight and Black Ark.

thursday night we played with 1 band who did it all right, came spoke to us chatted and had a laugh asked to borrow what gear they need and if they could change settings etc. great guys going to see them play again

the other making no effort to speak to any member of the band either for general conversation or to see if they could use our equitment. BAWBAGS! doubt i'll ever turn up to there gigs

you're totally wrong, cymbals dont break if you hit them right. learn to hit the drums hard and the cymbals light, thats what good drummers do. (sounds better as well). Usually the problem is cheapo cymbals that you really need to whack to get a sound out of, if you spend alot of money on good cymbals you learn QUICKLY.

That said, i'm a drummer, and i break cymbals from time to time, guess i need to improve.

We did a show where the other bands drummer didnt turn up with anything....no symbols, no snare, no kick pedal not even fucking drum sticks, our drummer, being the nice guy he is let him use everything of his, even though he only had 2 pairs of sticks with him that night so if this kid broke them, then he would have been fucked. If it was me, he would have been told to fuck off home to get some.
Also their guitarist didnt take anything but a guitar, so he had to borrow pedals and power.
Im not overly fussed about amp sharing, but for fuck sake, just ask, it makes the situation so much easier.
