Hey there. Being scared of music shops +all, can someone tell me the best place in Glasgow to get my bass fixed, without having to give them my life savings?

Danke schoen.

Merchant City Music tends to be the cheapest for near-enough anything. What's wrong with it anyway?

my old bass used to break all the time, my dad always fixed it.
the most common problem is that the piece of metal in the socket that the end of the lead clips against has been weakened from the strain of the lead, you just have to bend it back into place. and make sure to hook your lead round your strap to take the wieght off it.

It's fooked. Lisa borrowed it, fuck knows how she got it into such a state.

There isn't a bit to plug the cable into, just a hole with wires hanging out of it, and the strings vibrate like fuck. I've been told the bridge needs raised, or something.

Anyway, taa Ross. Merchant City, here I come.

You're welcome. That shouldn't cost too much to fix either. You should ask them just to give the whole thing an MOT while you're at it, in my opinion

C.I. State is an unknown quantity at this point
Academy of Sound (used to be CC Music) off Gibson street have a guitar techy guy who lives in the back. I dropped my guitar and fucked the neck so that wherever you played on the fret board it played the same note. Most upsetting. He fixed it nicely though, and it didn't cost that much..

That's a good shop, but i've only ever really passed through it rather than had a good look- i definately have to check that out. You might actually get that fixed quicker because that shop isn't in the city centre
