We've got an event coming up in Dundee, 11th - 14th october based at Seagate, Caird Hall and McManus Gallery called Urban Takeover. There will be intensive workshops in:
Digital music & beats - workshop with mercury nominated producer (MC Ty, Roots Manuva, Estelle) Drew Horney Vocals - Nathalie Williams - rising nu-soul singer, debut album out last year to critical acclaim all over the place, sell out gigs at the Jazz Cafe etc... MCing - Shawnee T - works with all the above DJing - AJ Kwame VJing and visuals - workshop with Angeline Ferguson, Edinburgh based visual artist who has worked in clubs, theatres, large scale out door events and with folk like Irvine Welsh and Evelyn Glennie. Urban Arts (AKA graffiti) and sculpture Breaking and street dance - workshop with Tony Mills from Edinburgh crew Freshmess Anyone interested should contact Emily on 01382 432473 or emily. dewhurst@dundeecity.gov.uk The project will end with a performance in the Caird Hall - it's a chance to work with some really interesting people, learn more about the techology, pick up techniques etc. Emily Dewhurst * Music Development Officer * Dundee City Council
