UGS launches user galleries / seeks volunteer contributors

Does anyone here take pics of gigs regularly that would like to contribute to the new galleries? These special people will be given extra speshul gallery access to cater for their needs. The galleries are lacking a bit despite being live for 3 days now and available to all with 500+ posts and subscribers. I'll move this to site feedback later because i think alot of you are still unaware that these are there for use.

Here is an outline of what people get from the galleries depending on their membership on the site.

Registered users (less than 500 posts): no gallery space
Regular users (500+) posts: 5mb space / 80k file size limit
UGS Street Team Coordinators: 20mb space / 80k file size limit
Premium Member User Group: 10mb space / 80k file size limit
Premium Plus Member User Group: 20mb space / 80k file size limit
UGS Content Contributors: 20mb space / 100k file size limit
UGS Photographers: 20mb space / 100k file size limit

So yes, start using em. Especially if your a non subs with 500+ posts, its free and you have 5mb which is enough to store a few hundred good quality jpegs... innit.

Also the galleries are hotlink protected which means once on UGS they cant be linked elsewhere, saving us bandwidth and you copyright. Also all pics get a small UGS watermark in the bottom corner for extra piece of mind when they are uploaded. So if you see your pic elsewhere on the web you can claim that you own the copyright because pics are date / time stamped on upload

You can access the galleries through the link on the top menu bar; Galleries or in the Links menu. Or directly here

i can sort that for you

at the moment you'll just have you own gallery, but i can set it for you for albums if you are going to be putting up gig photos

yeah i will be.got some from the spyamp gig last week i was gonna put up as well as loads of others.findo gask,x is loaded,thisgirl,straylight run,jetplane landing.to name a few

got 9 photos ready to go up from the spyamp/fickle public/distophia gig from the 17th of March.where will i put them? in my own gallery or?

since you only have 29 posts you dont qualify for a free gallery. You can however subscribe for £2 or £5 a month and get a 2mb or 9mb gallery respectively.

Alternatively you can send them to me and i can put them up for you.

Isn't me putting up lots of gig pictures on this site me doing the site and it's members a favour rather than something that I should be paying for the privelege of doing?

you asked me how you wanted to put your pics up so i gave you an answer. I'd give you one of the contributor accounts but it depends on the quality of your pictures and who they are of... i have two Dundee contributors already. Where are you from?

I am from East Kilbride and I have some pics of gigs: Modest Mouse the Garage, Glasgow; Six by Seven King Tuts, Glasgow; Slint, the Forum, London

the site needs as many contributions as possible from volunteers. The community is growing and along with that we need more content. the information age is truely here.
