The Campaign For Real Time / Secondsmile
It's with great, trans-Atlantic joy we can announce that The Campaign For Real Time will be making their first trip over to the UK next month, heading out for a few nights of music and candlelit dinners with labelmates Secondsmile. The dates for your diary are as follows:
23.02 - EXETER, The Cavern 25.02 - HEREFORD, Herdsman 26.02 - OXFORD, Exeter Hall 27.02 - SOUTHAMPTON, Joiners 28.02 - LONDON, Borderline 01.03 - LEEDS, Joseph's Well 02.03 - MANCHESTER, The Phoenix 03.03 - LINCOLN, Bivouac 04.03 - LUTON, University SU C4RT, the Boston born and bred funky-electro-pop-dancey-core band (as I've just decided to pigeonhole them) have already turned a few heads as they gear up for the release of their debut album, the wonderful 'Yes, I Mean... No', due out through BSM on 20th February. Sounding nothing like anyone else around right now - hence the awful struggle with a genre title - the band feature an ex-member of Garrison and a keyboardist who has previously toured with nu-metal greats Powerman 5000. This alone should tell you that they're a little bit different, so when you throw into the mix the fact that the band name artists such as Fugazi and Pink Floyd right alongside N.E.R.D and lots of drugs in their list of influences, as well as their story of being a "time travelling covers band playing the hits of tomorrow", it's pretty unlikely that without listening to them your ears really have any idea what to expect! So, lets do something about that... MP3 Download: www.bsmrocks.com MP3 Streams: www.myspace.com/thecampaignforrealtime Secondsmile, by contrast, are firmly routed in the here and now. They dabble in louder-than-you-like aggressive post-rock, backed by guitar tapped melodies, raspy vocals, rolling drum fills and all over intensity which grabs you viciously by the throat whilst tenderly caressing your hand at the same time. Like C4RT, Secondsmile are looking forward to releasing their debut album. 'Walk Into The Light And Reach For The Sky' is unleashed on 30th January and features all of the live favourites we've all come to know and love. If you've not yet been lucky enough to witness the live show, have a listen to the below MP3s, watch the video, buy the Feb issue of Rock Sound (out now) and read what they think to the band, and perhaps even check out their track on the covermount CD while you're at it. Their details are...
