UGS v2 Upgrade

Hello everyone! Tonight work will commence on the upgrade of the UGS website. This is not just a software upgrade but a server hosting upgrade which will see quicker load times on the site and hopefully less frustration for all.

We are also upgrading the software that the site uses including the galleries, the links directory, articles and also a few other additions will be added, some over the weekend and some in the very near future when they become available.

Work will begin tonight at 12midnight and will go on till it's complete hopefully no later than Sunday and if all goes well it could very well be open before that.

I'm very excited about this stage of the sites life because there are some big changes happening, some will be evident straight away and some will become evident as the site moves into new areas.

Also this will give me an opportunity to do some maintenance on the website including cleaning redundant forums, adding new/old forums and a few things that will hopefully increase the content on the site quite considerably.

As always myself and the team would like to thank all for using the site in its 4 years and in the future and thanks again for all your support.

If you have any questions please leave them here and i'll do my best to answer them.

I just realised that the current site is version 2, so the new incarnation will be version three!

Thanks man, i merged your accounts too and added you as a mod to your bands forum.

I've just integrated the galleries with the forums so hopefully people can start posting their gig photography to the site and we can get that off to a good start.

Also you can now choose another style from the style chooser at the bottom of the page. the new one stretches the site to fit to your screen. I'll be adding some more in the coming days including a work safe one and a mobile phone one.

I also just finished restyling the myspace page for the time being, just got the wiki left to do and that'll be it for a good few months at least! *fingers crossed*
