Revolution to play Genesis, TurboGrafx games.
I guess most of you are aware that Nintendo are going to make their whole back catalogue available for download when the Revolution comes out. But most of you might not know that this is now going to included games published originally for the Sega Genesis and Hudson's TurboGrafx
How bizarre is that going to be playing old Sega classics on a Nintendo platform. Check it out

i play all these on my xbox
1 nes 2 snes 3 n64 5 master system 6 megadrive 7 mega32 drive 8 neo-geo 9 neo-geo pocket 10 wonderswan 11 Atari 2600 12 Pc-engine (turbo grafx) 13 capcom 1+2 system And the rumur that revolution Or th new name Nintendo GO wont be much better than the 1st xbox, means i wont be bothering with the new nintendo. I think that Nintendo will eventualy go the way sega have done and just drop the hardware and concentrating on software. |

Depending on the price of the console, and how cheap the megadrive/nintendo games are, then I'd be tempted to get a revolution at some point. I'm not really into the newer Nintendo style games that much though. |

at the moment, the only new console im defintley going to get is a PS3
im not sure why, but i think itll be the best one all round. xb360 looks a bit bland at the mo, too many mediocre games and some arent very impressive at all (there are some that are a quality) revolution? Xbox with a potentially annoying arm flailing controller? wow! i can play old nintendo and sega games! just like i do for free on my pc! !! |

:I think the idea of downloading old games is a good one, and for me anyway, i'd rather play these games on a console than a PC (it just doesnt't feel right playing Streets of Rage 2 on a PC, hard to put my finger on why). However, I don't think this should be pushed to the forefront as one of the main features, to me it's a nice extra. Nintendo really need to let the cat out of the bag at E3 next month; announce what the other secrets are, confirm prices and most importantly, show off some games. I think if people have see how the remote works with the games they'll be more into it. There's lots of speculation as to what the other big secret(s) is/are, and there's talk that the Revolution will be able to produce similar graphics to the others without the need for as much processing power (except it's not bothering about HDTV). I don't know if this is possible as i'm not really up on specs, but the Gamecube wasn't as powerful as the Xbox yet I wouldn't say there's a massive difference graphically (anyone who's played Resident Evil 4 will probably agree). If this turns out to be true and the Revolution comes out at the ridiculously low price that's being suggested, then they could well be onto a winner. Either that or it will flop spectacularly. Realistically the PS3 will come out on top, and the Xbox 360 will be shunned to make way for it. Microsoft could really make the most of this headstart if it stopped charging 50 quid for a game. With regard to Nintendo no longer making consoles, I don't see it myself, for the forseeable future anyway. The Gamecube may have been considered a failure because it came third with regard to units sold, but Nintendo came top for profit, so they must be doing something right. One suspects more PS2 and Xbox's were sold so people could replace their faulty ones anyway . Also the DS is doing the business right now so they have that to rely on too. |

Whether the Xbox looks better than the Gamecube really depends on whether the Xbox game you're playing takes full advantage of the Xbox's capabilities. The pixel shaders on the Xbox allow you to do things you just can't do on the Gamecube. You can't do effects like bumped reflections/refractions on the Gamecube for example, whereas you can on the Xbox. (where an bump-mapped object reflects the environment, or refracts the background realistically, based on its bump-map) |
