http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_stick
Sony had one before Nintendo (just and in a very small run) but Atari had one first. Immersion also had a shock controller before them |

hmmm, well I found this account to be more compelling. In terms of direct impact and influence on the industry.

Personally I found the gamecube controller really annoying, but I think the wii-mote is a great idea, and it worked really well when I tried it.
Also, as said, the chunky Xbox controller hasn't been the standard controller for years now (at least 3 or 4 years ago now, I think). It was replaced with the smaller version originally made for the Japanese market. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control...ovable_storage Personally I found the original Xbox controller to be just as usable as the smaller version, but I have massive hands! ![]() |

Yeah, they took a bit of getting used to for me, because I used to use my index fingers on the triggers on the original Xbox.
I find the best way for me is to use my index fingers on the bumpers, and use my middle fingers on the triggers. That can get painful after a while though. When you consider the alternative, of having the black and white buttons on the original Xbox controller, which were a total cunt to reach, I prefer it this way. |
