Best & Worst Song Intros
This thread was inspired by a recent listen to 'When The Going Gets Tough' by Billy Ocean, which has, for my money, the most preposterous intro of all time:
When the going gets tough, the tough get going-oing-oing-oing-oing Tough, tough, hoo haa haa hoo When the going gets tough, the tough get rough ye-aah tough, tough, too-taa-taa-tough, tough, tough! It could also be the best intro of all time, or perhaps it's the worst, I really can't tell. Some of my favourite song intros are: 'The Message' - Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five (Some of the best Synth sounds ever) 'Be My Baby' - The Ronettes '(Love is Like a) Heatwave' - Martha Reeves & The Vandellas 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough' - Michael Jackson 'Political Science' - Randy Newman (Any song that starts with the line "no-one likes us" has got to be good) 'Peek-a-boo' - Devo 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody' - Whitney Houston (808-beats-tastic) I'll have to ponder over the worst intros a bit more, but needless to say the Oboe intro to 'Handbags & Gladrags' is definately in there. |

Anyway, the intro to the Foo Fighters' 'Best of You' usually makes me cringe. I'll go away and think of more. |
