Bouncing Souls - The Gold Record

oh yes. after 2 listens i knew this is gonna probably be the album of my summer. it could even be their best album yet.

the souls never dissapoint me, live or on record, so i was always probably gonna like but it`s just so good. i hate saying this but you can hear how they`ve grown in this record, you can hear maturity in the music, the words and the overall sound and feel of the record.

dont wanna get carried away, i would just say - get it and enjoy

Yeah, got it too (requests ahoy for Entropy then ) and it's a good one. Meant to post up here about it but I'm lazy and didn't. Good to see it going cheap in the shops too (£9 Virgin, £8 Fopp).

Liking it so far. i've never been a massive fan of them apart from the odd song.

Need to get a hold of this. I've kind of lost track of them the past couple of albums.

Probably a safe bet that this is my summer album. As I said, i've never been a huge fan of the band - even as a young, easily impressed punx roxxer i always classed The Bouncings Souls as just another Epifat (honk honk, remember that?!) band that featured on too many compilations.

however this is a great album. im not the type for hype, but this album really deserves it. i might just have to dive into their back catalogue a little more.

'So Jersey' has a great chorus.

also, are their releases normally cheap? i got it for £7.97 in Music Zone in Glenrothes, which normally sells new releases for about £13.

i know they try to keep prices as low as possible when releasing records on Chunksaah (their own label) so maybe they scored a deal with Epitaph to make sure this gets kept at a fair price too.

more labels should do that anyway. its not expensive to make Cd`s so keep it cheap and keep it punk. (Plan it X for example)

aye, the record is awesome. i love So Jersey too. i remember they played that when i saw em in April
so many great songs tho, The Gold Song is ace, so is Midnight Mile and the closing track. great stuff

Rich - i`d recommend starting with "how i spent my summer vacation" , then "maniacal laughter" , "anchors aweigh", "hopeless romantic" and then the rest

cheers baz. might see you at entropy - i definately need to make more appearances!

i actually love The Bouncing Souls song 'Quick Check Girl', so perhaps a spree of spending is in need.

Dunno if Epitaph is doing stuff cheap on week of release. Hot Water Music's "The New What's Next" and Converge's "You Fail Me" were both at that price on week of release (the last two Epitaph releases I really looked out for when they came out! ).

haha, same here actually. aye i mind "You Fail Me" being quite cheap. epitaphs got some bad acts on their roster now.
