just off the top of my head.

I think electronic music is the most exciting genre around. It's so varied, ranging from the full on almost drill and bass of Venetian Snares to the soft ambience of Alejandra & Aeron to the arch pop of Simon Bookish to the outright noise of Kylie Minoise to the J-Pop sampladelica of Doddodo to the cartoon 200bpm entertainment assault that is Gay Against You...... the list goes on and on and on.

By comparison 4 boys with guitars just doesn't cut it.
I've been getting so bored with hip hop lately. The folk at work are all into electronica and i've slowly been getting into it.

If you're getting bored of Hiphop you should check out the Anticon stable - Subtle, Alias, Why?....all good stuff.

For a bit of crossover with electronica see 13&God and Depth Affect.

Also you should check out Hood

As an aside, Elephant Eyelash by Why? is one of my favourite albums ever.

I can't recommend it enough.

Is electronica just electronic music in general, or is it more specific that that?

If it's the former, I can recommend:

The new Subtle album 'ExitingARM' is rather odd - nowhere near as immediate as 'For Hero:For Fool' was. I have a suspicion it will be a 'slow burner'

Not heard any of "ExitingARM" yet, but loved "For Hero, For Fool".

In terms of stuff on Lex, the Neon Neon album is fantastic.

New Portishead is excellent on the first listen.
