That would be incredible. A lot of people I know have been claiming they were there the first time round.

All this talk sure does bring back memories.
Duke of Portland was the best thing on the 100 members comp. that dude lived that shit. I played in many school bands, from 1992-97. There was more of a collective pool of kids who liked metal at my school, we all learned to play guitar and even had a rehearsal room with a shitty drum kit in it! in the school music department. I'd be in there as often as possible, most lunch times and for several hours after school. Did my time there before unleashing my amateur musical ability on a paying audience. Played in many bands with shit names. Apocalypse next Tuesday, Intestinal Spillage, Gauge, Dingy. All essentially myself and Andrew from Laeto, with various other guys playing bass or sometimes drums. I played in a band called Muffs I would include them because they actually played gigs in Lucifer's Mill and the West Port. They even played with Polar Bear (Snow Patrol). I quit literally days before they played their first gig. First band to play gigs with - Asuka who were first known as Anorak then later Cellophane. Same band. Play with them for about 7-8 years. from 96 to about 2003. We recorded so much stuff on 4 track, and a 5 track demo at Substation. Fizzled out because Matthew gave up playing Drums entirely which lead to a different band The Mink Stoles. Who only played one gig. Myself and Matthew swapped roles with him playing guitar/Vox and me on Drums. MySpace.com - The Mink Stoles - Edinburgh, UK - Psychedelic / Rock / Alternative - www.myspace.com/minkstoles I prob ain't on any of that stuff on their myspace. Main course - Laeto I first joined them when they were called Kid Nothing. But I didn't play on any of their recordings. Played in Laeto from 97 till our uncertain hiatus. We kicked out the jams and slayed faces. Our third album has been deleted because Fraser spilt Irn bru into robin's computer. MySpace.com - Laeto - Dundee, UK - Rock - www.myspace.com/laeto After the initiation of the Laeto holiday, I started/joined a whole bunch of other musical endeavours. Played with Chris Marr's Esperi. MySpace.com - esperi - carnoustie/dundee, Scotland - Folk / Electronica / Alternative - www.myspace.com/esperi Playing bass for Mac. MySpace.com - iain macaulay - Dundee - Acoustic / Folk / Pop - www.myspace.com/iainmacaulay and now my two new rock pursuits - Back playing with Andew, playing some fucking METAL \m/ Thews MySpace.com - Thews - - Indie - www.myspace.com/thethews Donald from Avast is our main motherfucker battering the drums. Gonna fuck up your hearing at a gig in the near future. Me and Jon Currently playing in Bullet Hell Will have a myspace soon. Bass/Drums up loud. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I knew Neil (Duke of Portland) really well, having worked with him, then hung out at his house (meeting his girlfriend and kids) several times, not to mention recording a full album with him. He is the most peaceful, gentle, kind chap you could hope to meet. He certainly didn't 'live that shit'! He's a tremendous actor though, and can slip into character at the drop of a hat. |

I'm not yet old enough for a real 'musical history'.
Only notable bands are: Last Years Fall: pretty poor rock band featuring Donald and Andy on drums and guitar, with me on bass and another chap called Pete Ramwell on vocals. We played a gig with Misled Youth + Findo Gask (then Chug) and that was about it... We stopped playing together and I 'experimented' with various musical projects which all pretty much sucked. Years later, I reunited with Andy and Donald of Last Years Fall and made: Avast!, which for a brief period also included Dave from Archives/The Fall of Boss Koala. We recorded a 4 track demo with him before going seperate ways. Avast! then recorded an album called Faultlines, toured a few times, and we are now creating album #2. Andy was also a member of Glaswegian indie rock band Stapleton, and after spending many months without a bassist, I was lucky enough to jam with them and join the unit permanently. In the time I've been with them we've recorded and released 2 albums, a split 10" and some extra tracks on compilations and toured many times. I really have no idea what lies in the future though. No idea at all.
