Whatcha spinning?

Had one listen each of the YYYs and the new Mastodon and both were pleasure. Also enjoying Aidan Moffat's album.
The new Franz Ferdinand was OK, but the second half blew a bit.

Mostly been catching up on 2008 albums I missed though. Any gems so far this year?

I'm looking forward to hearing PJ Harvey and Doves.
The new Arctic Monkeys album is being produced by Josh Homme so that might be interesting.
Midlake have a new one out this year and Danananakroyd might be good.

doves and xcerts new albums are tasty and getting fair listen at the moment! enjoying the new efforts from mastadon, from monument to masses, the appleseed cast and jesper norda too!

crack the skye is pretty seamless, which i enjoy. i need to listen to it more

MF DOOM - Born Like This

Love what I've heard of the new Animal Collective, wish they'd put out a 12" of My Girls though. Looking forward to long-players from Circulatory System, Lindstrom & Prins Thomas, Aeroplane and hopefully some good local stuff. New Midlake is good news too!

i've quite enjoyed the new offerings from Propagandhi and New Found Glory, but nothings yet been a staple of my listening, cant wait for the new Rancid and NOFX albums in the summer.

Mastodon - Crack The Skye
Zu - Carboniferous
Trail Of Dead - The Century Of Self

Haven't really listened to the TOD yet but the other two are brilliant. Also been checking out the first few Melvins albums and The Jesus Lizard stuff.

Have been enjoying the new Whitest Boy Alive, Fight Like Apes and De Rosa records, as well as the Dark Was The Night compilation. Looking forward to King Creosote, Doves, Junior Boys, Dananananaykroyd and a Swedish band called Marions. An album from Air France would be nice. The Animal Collective album did nothing for me in the slightest.

HMV. It's worth it just for the new National tune and the Dirty Projectors/David Byrne one.

The new Morrissey, Propagandhi and Animal Collective records have all flicked my switch so far this year.

I haven't heard YYY's new effort yet but I'm looking forward to giving it a listen. Devo have a new album out in the autum which, just judging by amature live footage of their new songs, sounds like it's going to be excellent.

So far I am digging 2009.
