Thumbs up Miles Davis and Marvin Gaye

Kind of Blue by Miles Davis <img border="0" alt="[Elvis]" title="" src="graemlins/elvis.gif" />
and Whats Going On? by Marv himself

Did you know Marvin Gaye was shot dead by his own father in 1984? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Whats Going on is a timeless classic, I have the deluxe version of it (smashing) . Let's get it on is great too, he released that album just after what's going on. He produced these album's himself too You can get both of them in fopp for 5 pounds each, thats value any way you slice it .

Unhappy

i dont think many people do/did know that. i only found out a few days ago, its inside the inlay card for one of his recent re-releases.

I'm not sure why it happened... or the story behind it. The picture on Whats Going On looks soooo recent though. i was shocked.

What's going on was released in 71, so thats quite a while before he died. Sexual healing was a hot in 83' though, so he still making hits right up to his death.

I thought it was common knowledge that marvin gaye was dead, like everyone knows that john lennon, or Jimi Hendrix are dead. If he were still alive he'd be into his 60s.

Your right, he was shot by his father, who was a preacher, in 84'.

its amazing that the best blues album ever made was made up completely on the spot. The tracks were just amazing jamming sessions. You cant even tell, its all seemless sewn together. My pops wont give me the damn cd back. he listens to it when he plays mind numbingly boring games of Solitaire.
