First off, I loved Curly Lloyds. Anyway, onto the bands. Unfortunately i was unable to stay till the end, so if anyone wants to review the remaining bands which i did not get to see, then please do, and i will add it along with this first half.
First up were Save the Empire, Dundee metallers who`s drummer just happens to be the brother of a member of Skintwire. This was the first time i had seen this band, and unintentionally since i did not know that they were on tonights bill, and to be honest, they were nothing to shout about today, unless the shouts were aimed at them. The reason? Well, the songs were too `samey` and long, with predictable instruments at the exact same stages of each of the songs. This did begin to tire on the audience along with the lack of technical aspects to their music. Overall, i would have to give the band 2 out of 5 for their performance. With a bit of variety, clarity and originality, the score would have been much higher.
Next up were Alegro. I couldnt believe what i was seeing. I think the average age of these guys was about 12, but they were certainly good at what they were doing. Rather commical was the fact that the bassist must have been shorter than the bass guitar he was holding, and the lead singer had the voice of a hardened 30 year old death metal frontman. How is it possible for such a young guy to produce such horrifically fantastis sounds from his chest. I couldnt really distinguish between the songs but i think the fact that they were so young made me give them a score of 3 out of 5. Mainly due to the fact that they had the balls to go up on stage in front of a packed Curly Lloyds and play some, quite frankly, crazy shit. Their parents must be so proud.
Next up where Segaboy, a band i had heard about previous to the gig. As soon as they appeared, the dancefloor was packed right to the back. I`d never seen anything like it before. They provided to enthused audience with 30 minutes of good clean punk rock music. As their set went on the place got busier and busier and i would like to think that it was a direct result of their music. I also thought the Harmonica was a good and fresh touch to an already over crowded genre in the town of Perth. 3.75 outta 5 for Segaboy.
Pen15 were next but i had to leave

having spent the pervious day with the front man in Aberdeen, i was deeply dissapointed not to have seen their entire set. Funny bastards.
As always , make your views known on the forum. Someone please review the other bands that were on the bill. Thanks.
PS: Save the Empire release their EP in July of this year. Might be worth a look at.
