Review by Gav Revolt
This show was headlined by Vacant Stare, with support from Thisgirl, The Blueprint & Tyler.
Arrived half way through Tyler, I found them to be a very interesting band, mostly a light sound, but have a girl playing the cello, making them very different to what we expected. i dont have the best knowledge on this kind of genre, so i'd give a lazy comparison to Fugazi, but with a cello. Definately worth checking out if you get the chance
The Blueprint are a shit hot band, i hated them on the mp3's i'd heard, however, they do have Karl Middleton on vocals and he is (as was pointed out to me) THE MAN. He has to be without doubt the absolutely most stunningly brilliant singer in the whole of the UK. Totally unique voice, unfortunate for him though he dances like a dieing antelope, very funny and highly entertaining

. it was also cool to get to see MD Clayden playing live, without having to sit through a pitchshifter set (result!). The rest of the band is completed by ex-members of pitchshifter & consumed.
Thisgirl were atrocious!!! I couldn't believe how bad they were, for a band so hyped all over the place, the guitar sound was crap, the guys voice was just painful and on the whole their songs were just bereft of anything vaguely interesting and new to add to the whole (and rather contrived as it now is) emo-melodic-hardcore-we-love-hundred-reasons-and-doing-stop---------------------START-bits. in all honesty, toy were alot better at this type of thing in the westie the other night, and i would have gladly watched them again rather than this girl. also, having heard they have a great stage presence, i was still looking hard to spot any kind of amazing moves other than skipping backwards and forwards, and jumping on the spot. DULL DULL DULL.
So we left early due to Thisgirl spoiling what had been an entertaining gig, and didn't see Vacant Stare.
The Blueprint are fantastic though
