Hundred Reasons, Reuben, Twofold, Dave House
This gig was on the 10 of November in Glasgows King Tuts Wah Wah Hut.
The gig started off with the first act, "Dave House".
"Dave House" is the lead guitarist/ vocalist from a old English band "Lucky Thirteen". His music is a mixture of individuale style and class. He show consists of him on stage with a accoustic guitar and backing tracks on cd of house hold sounds, string instruments like cello's, double basses. Over all his set was different but a eye opener. I Later bought his album, Kingston Current, Which i found really interesting, a good buy if anyone is interested in one man and his guitar (with sound effects ect.)
Then came "Twofold".
"Twofold" are one of my favorite up and coming rock bands. they have had a good few write-ups in the kerrang mag for songs off there new single, Hammer To The Hornet's Nest, The Song "Stabbed and Back" was voted a must have song in the kerrang mag. There set was one of the longest i have seen them play, being the 5th time. there where few technical problems with the bass guitarist/ power vocalist mic but where resolved near to the end. They played most of every second of there set which was really inspiring to see.
Then came "Reuben"
"Reuben" are a heavy rock/ metal outfit again from England. They are only a 3 peice but are very powerful and up front with there music. They had some problems agian with the right side stage mic and pedal problems for the bass player aswell. The pedel problem got sorted out but the mic still seemed to cause a problem. During this point myself and ali, my mate, went to the bar to get a beer, we meet the head line act "Hundred Reasons" and "Twofold" Having a beer, So we dulay joined them and have a few interesting conversations, merchandise signings before they had to go to get ready to come on stage.
Then the headline act, "Hundred Reasons"
"hundred Reasons" came out to a very warm welcome from the small packed in crowed at the Hut. There set was absoloutly flawless, one problem with a pedel set the guitarest back but was fixed at the end of the song. They had the whole of the Hut's crowed jumping around like it was agian the leeds festival. Since they have parted from Sony's record label they have went back to grass roots, playing small city venues with there true fan base selling it out! They then left the stage after a hour, on "I'll Find You", to come back on to finish with two last songs, finishing on the beast "Silver"
Closing up was a great night all round.
(Later, goin for the usual king rib super, ali and i bumped into "Twofold" and "Dave House" in the same chip-shop. So we stood and had another conversation about how they should watch what they were doing in Glasgow at that time on Buchanen St)
