Firstly this record should be noted as being a totally different beast from Norma Jean’s debut. The progression is huge, gone are the often overly repetitive structures, and in have come massive tunes. As me and Alan agreed, there’s plenty of Pantera in the mix this time, and what I’ve noticed is plenty of nu-metalisms too. Thankfully this isn’t to the records detriment, the 11 tracks on here are brimming with quality ideas, I’d happily describe them as cast offs from the new Converge album that were too commercial for them.
This album is set for release at the start of March, but you can get it (like I did) off file sharing services. They play Glasgow as part of their April UK tour, definitely not one to miss! I reckon this will push them into the big time.
