The Ocean - Fluxion

The Ocean - Fluxion

Moving on from their previous ep, the utterly marvelous "Fogdiver", The Ocean have equipped themselves with a singer with a fine set of bellows. Now sounding more akin to Cult Of Luna but retaining a more ISIS like approach towards the construction of their tunes.

Whilst it appears many are jumping on the ISIS inspired drive to be Neurosis, these German's retain their individuality through the incorporation of classical instruments allowing them to incorporate an element of folk music and traditional culture.

Thankfully that doesn't mean they've neglected how to bring the heaviness, and despite some overly long passages there's plenty on this album to hold the listeners attention.
