Titus Gein - 3 track demo
(the ones i have are not the final recordings- the proper album "advanced techniques for hands and feet will be out on 16/01/06 on 2mf)
ok i know this is an old demo... but it is about time i started contributing and this is what is in my CD player at the mo!
bit of background stuff
Titus Gein are a 3 piece Glasgow band, they are made up of Doug(the duke) on guitars, synth and vocals, Ross(the bear) on drums and "the box..shall explain later" and Snack (i really cannot remember his name

) on guitar!
self described as "a healthy blend of heavy rock, sublime prog with a pinch of electro goodness."
they are signed to the too many fireworks record label - linkage

they can be found and listened to on

ok
tracks on this wee beauty are
1. Insurrection of the Electric Ghosts(2:29)
2. Liquid Persuasion
3. The Shrine of Eurydice
number 1 comes in with an excellent wee drum beat and straight into a catchy wee riff... vocals come in soon after it is dougie singing through a synth and it sounds cool as fuck
chorus bit comes in all rough and good (you really have to hear it)
great guitar solo comes in here.... would melt your face

steady drum beat continues and the guitar begins to play a great arpeggio based riff
goes back to wee chorus bit
and slows down and fades out to held distorted notes and the line" you might not like what you may find" BLOODY GREAT
number 2 has no vocals this time it consists of drums and both of the guys on guitar
number 3 is my favourite track- if any of you have heard my phone ring in the last 3 months it has been this song.... the main inst in this has to be the synth it plays this catchy little tune all the way through with excellent backing from the drums
the song is rock solid- it again has no lyrics in it but the synth is definately tuneful enough to make you want to "la" along
the guitar is sos sososo good in this song ( and i know that means nothing to you) it has a great solo about half of the way through which signals the end of the synth participation as dougie has began playing guitar as well... so a nice solid solid guitar sound for the rest of the tune
builds up to a good few crecendos
before finishing as one and the guitar going on to have a lovely sounding bit of distortion..
(I AM GOING TO UPDATE THE SONG BIT WHEN I HAVE MORE TIME********>)
this is totally worth a listen as i and many others agree that this band are the best local act going about at the mo
they have recently released a 7" as a taster to the forthcoming album which i would love to review but i have not had a chance to listen to it yet as i do not posess a vinyl player

gorgeous sleeve design though.. the tracks on it are "insurrection of the electric ghosts" and " you can run but you can't fly" i have never heard the seciond track but i was told by the drummer it is one of their earlier ones and it was recorded and "somewhat" produced by the band. so is prolly worth a wee nosy
at this time they have tshirts and badges and posters i belive at the 2mf website
mine arrived a while ago.. the tshirt is red and has the same design as the record.. lovely!
