Juliet Kilo - Carnival

Juliet Kilo

3 Track Demo

Juliet Kilo are an 'ambient rock' band formed in 2004. Their latest release 'Carnival' is the result of a lot of hard work and it really does...

The whole point in this review is my opinion on the record, not what your opinion should be. Perhaps you should learn to grasp the concept of a review before you criticise it.

edit: i sooooo wanted to post a link to Cunny's Head Cleaner review, possibly the most infamous review in UGS history.
I understand where you're coming from and, I apologize for my ignorance regarding the subject. I do understand the concept of a review, I just don't agree with what you had to say on the matter thus is why I replied. But, my opinion still stands so mote it be.

Getting away from this tittle tattle I would like to hear this on my stereo. I've seen Juliet Kilo live and really liked them. They are nice folk too which always give you a few more plus points (no ego's).

The only thing I would question, being in a band myself, is the actual releasing of these tracks. I can't understand why you would release this if you were expecting bad reviews. If that comment was made out of modesty then you guys shouldn't shoot yourselves down. If you like the tracks you've recorded and are happy with the release then you should enjoy the praise you get about it. If you're not positive about your band you will struggle to achieve your goals, however small they may be.

Think positive and remember there's a big difference between arrogance and self belief.

Ommmmmmm......

Cheers!
It's not that we don't like it, it's more that by the time we got it finished we'd improved a lot and this stuff sounded weak in comparison. It'd have been a shame to let it go to waste though because we payed for it and some people wanted to hear it, and like i said, we thought it'd be nice to document where we started from.

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from.

We never really pushed this CD because as Mike said, by the time we'd finished it (it was a very lonnnnnnnng drawn out recording process, which was mainly our fault), we had written new stuff and started heading in a different direction.

We never had this pressed, despite our initial intention to, because we really didn't believe in pushing and promoting something that doesn't really reflect the band in its current form. Instead, we just stuck the tracks up on the web-site and on Myspace to listen to because I guess that's ultimately better than a musical void. I think it's depressing to see web-sites with 'MP3s coming soon' or whatever, and we knew it'd be a long time before we recorded our next effort.

I'm personally really looking forward to recording the new album/EP. I think this time round we'll be a little more wisened and less naive about how to do things, and what to expect. Hence, I don't think the same scenario's going to arise.

Sorry for being long winded, and thanks for the comment

Sorry guys was away on a wee tour of H'england.

I understand now why you released it and I think it's cool that you did. I'll need to get a copy. I've only ever seen you guys once and I'd like to see you again.

We'll need to gig sometime soon.

Take care and no doubt see you soon.
