Glasgow 3-piece Daedalian just released their brand spanking new EP entitled Urban Creep and I have it right here. I've still got their first EP and comparing the two the progression is quite obvious. They are tighter as a unit, the quality of the release is massively improved and the energy and feeling radiating from this EP is there for all to feel, even myself.
The first track on this EP is called Watershed. The lyrics to this song are available on their official MySpace page and they are definately worth taking the time to read through. Brian delivers them and the band do their best to equal him and the result is a powerful track with an important message.

But PC Plod takes cash and looks away
If it feels too real, sit there
and change it; Reality Standby

I love it.
The next track on this piece of Glaswegian artistry is Urban Creeps. This starts off more aggressively than the former but soon gives way to smooth vocals from Brian. It's actually a pretty varied track, from the metal start to the soft vocals and then a fast tempo toward the halfway point. The vocals are delivered with excellent contrast, one minute you're listening intently and the next your listening to chants and shouts and soon the track becomes an anthem.
The final track on this here EP is called Big Black Birds. This is actually the first track I listened to and it's still my favourite out of the three which in my opinion is a great way to bring down the curtain on this project. They categorise themselves as Indie but this is anything but and that is definately not a bad thing. That's not saying Indie is bad, just that this is a good look for the band. The previous two tracks on the EP carry a message and this track is no different. Each track gives you something to listen to and think about. This is much better than the CD's you get that just drift past without you even realising the CD stopped spinning 30 minutes ago.
Overall this is a great effort from the band and one that aught to be enjoyed by many either through buying the disc or seeing them perform these treats infront of a live audience.
