FABRICLIVE 27 - DJ Format
I first bought into the Fabriclive CD's as an experiment in trying to find some new music i'd like, so I thought i'd review the latest one that I have purchased and this one is a DJ set from DJ Format, and it's outstanding. The other reason for buying my first Fabriclive CD was the artwork that they all have.
Anyways, this CD has a real old school sound to it. It's a fusion of funk, hip hop and jazz with some old school greats thrown into the mix including the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Mr Lif. There are some awesome breaks and some fine lyricism scattered right the way through. Get Wise '91, Changes, Sunshine of Your Love, Hot Rod Pappa and Dancing Drums are all standout tracks for me but there really is something for everyone... with 25 tracks there has to be really.
