The Donnas - Bitchin'
Unfortunately for the Donnas on this, their seventh album, there's only so much mileage you can get from songs about horrible boys sung over recycled AC/DC riffs. Always reliable without being spectacular, it seems that age is catching up on the former teen rebels. Their previous record, Gold Medal, showed signs of maturing without sacrificing the trademark hooks that made them everyones favourite party band, but on Bitchin' they appear to have taken a step backwards. Fourteen tracks is always going to be alot, even for a good Donnas album, but here it drags out and has you reaching for the stop button three or four tracks from the end. It's a shame, but age finally seems to have caught up with them.
