There is one type of music that has been dominating my iTunes and my iPod play list selection for the past few months and that is electronica. Pretty much anything that's been made on a computer of some sort. Everything from Linus Loves to Sleepy Town Manufacture has been doing the rounds on my eardrums.
Enter Gui Boratto. His music is described as being everything and anything that fits between the House and Techno genres. After hearing his track Beautiful Life on a video produced by a motion graphics artist I've been actively seeking out some more of his material and finally the best of it can be found on this new album. He has been releasing music for a while now but as far as I know this is his only full length album. Now that winter is well and truly here, if not on its way, then this is one of those discs you'll need to keep a smile on your face.
There are a few tracks that will stand out, but the majority of the tracks on the album are worthy of your time. Each one unique in sound and approach. Beautiful Life being the best track on the album in my opinion. An up-beat track with equally satisfying vocals. This is followed by The Blessing which is one of the best sounding joints here. Hera completes the hat-trick. A slightly more dramatic sounding track.
I could go through each track describing it but really there wouldn't be any point because frankly there is something here for everyone. It's so diverse but universally appealing. If you are into your beeps and bops then this is an album that you need to get your hands on. If you don't believe me then just listen to the tracks on Gui's myspace page.
To be honest it'll be easier just identifying the tracks that don't do the album justice and in my opinion there is only one such track, Terminal. Other than that everything else is top notch.
