Man Must Die - The Human Condition

Fucking fuckkkkkkkk

I had Man Must Die's first album "Start Killing", i was very impressed by that at the time, with its soaring guitar driven, blast beat fuelled brand of madness, though there were a few critiscims, such as a lot of it sounding similar, and sometimes it never quite got as mental as you thought it could.

Its taken me a while to get this new album, released on Relapse Records. This is the first british band to be signed by the American extreme label that also has such artists as Mastodon, Pig Destroyer and Necrophagist.

i was almost in disbelief how good this album is at times upon first listen.
The vocals are even more harsh than before (some how!), and the old carcass trick (double track the low growls with high sharp screams) works brilliantly.

The drums are as impressive as ever, although it seems that he has mixed it up a bit on here...lot more different stuff going on than last time around.

Bass and Guitars are again brilliant, but again, theres something new. It seems like a mix of the last album (fast and brutal but laced with harmonies and riffs that wouldnt be out of place in an uber fast swedish metal band) and also a more traditional grind/death metal element that punches you straight in the face!

Production wise, top notch. For this type of band, i dont think you could get any better to be honest. Theyve toned down the drums slightly since the last one but theyre still defined. Usually i like a bit of a dirty sound when it comes to extreme stuff, but this crystal clear but hard hitting production is absolutley spot on.

For people who have heard the first, imagine that, but crank up the intensity and add a general feeling of being smashed in the puss. Generally sounds a lot nastier too!

This band were my favourite local band before, now they are one of my favourite bands in general. I dont think i can think of anything that could make this album better...

check them out at MySpace.com - Man Must Die (writing album) - Glasgow, Scotland - Death Metal / Metal / Grindcore - www.myspace.com/manmustdie

although the 2 songs up are probably the weakest from the album in my opinion, some of the others are absolutley outstanding!

The only CD to come close to this that i got for xmas was brutal truth-sounds of the animal kingdom, which is also fucking amazing!
