Clifford Joseph Price aka Goldie has been on the Drum and Bass scene for a while now having released his first track way back in 1992 Goldie has been a stalwart of the electronic music scene particularly
Jungle and
Drum and Bass and has been pushing the boundaries with his label
Metalheadz. As far as I can tell this is his first release since 2006's
D&B Classics mix and it forms part of the
Watch the Ride series.
With exclusives from Subwave, D Bridge & Goldie, Barney Trouble, Rufige Kru, Friction & K Tee from Metalheadz as well as exclusive tracks from Shy FX and System all form part of a quality release. Not outstanding but still a quality release none the less. Goldie's got a few tracks of his own in this mix including
Mirror and
Monkey Boy.
DJ Hazzard's Machette is in here too, which is fucking crazy and leads the mix into more grimier, hardcore territory and this is immediately followed by Shy FX's remix of Bambaata and later
Blackmajic by DJ Vibes which is pretty heavy in its own right.
There are some slightly relaxed and chilled tracks on here too, it's not all "full-speed-ahead-put-yourself-in-a-neck-brace" tempo.
Lose You by Lenzman is much a more sedated afair with minimal lyrical distraction and
Savannah by Calibre... both tracks leading you on a gentle put down toward the end of the mix.
