Sparta - Wiretap Scars
I’m not gonna lie to you, I only know of Sparta because I was (and still am) a big fan of At the Drive-in. At first I didn’t give Sparta a chance as I was more than impressed with the offering from the afro duo...

DragonForce - Inhuman Rampage
There are always one or two bands or groups in every genre that will pull you in and make you want to listen to more of that genre. For example, The Offspring, Green Day and Minor Threat and The Dead Kennedy’s are the most common bands for introducing people to punk, metalheads will often quote Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura and most recently Slipknot. So what about power metal? Judas Priest? Helloween? Manowar? Recently, there has been one band responsible for the rise and rise of power metal (in the UK anyway). This band is Dragonforce.

Aidan Smith - the cellar bar - Edinburgh - 31/3/5
Busted into town to see Mr. Smith tonight and was predictably delighted. I've never been to the cellar bar - not really, really being from edinburgh, but it's a nice wee dark place with a very expensive bar. Guinness costs £3.20 which is a lot where I come from anyway.
