Post Commercial Christmas

ok, so i may not be a Christian, but i thought those of you who are could discuss this. Looking at the situation at the moment, dont you think Christmas is kind of commercial now? i mean, all you ever hear about it what you get for Christmas, what ever happened to actually looking forward to spending time with your family and having a meal and all the traditional stuff.
I think the corporations have a grasp on Christmas, especially Coca Cola. I've grown up thinkin that Santa drinks Coke, well maybe not, but do you get the point i am trying to put across? Kids shouldnt be tought that all Christmas represents is the giving of gifts, rather than its true meaning.

i'm totally just looking forward to the break. my folks asked what i wanted and i was like 'mom, we dont celebrate christmas' and she agreed so we just left it at that. But other people are quick to put a list forward that virtually puts their parents in dept. If i know the story correctly, only 3 gifts were given to baby Jesus, 4 if you count the gift of life.

I didn't ask for anything this christmas, i'm kinda just guessing on what i'm gonna get. But i wouldn't give a shit if i got nothing cos i'm just looking forward to being at home with my family and my wee doggies and seeing my friends. I'm not back home much now that i stay in glasgow so when i do go home to see the rents and stuff it's all good. I agree with KJ that christmas has lost it's true meaning. You never really hear people talking of the religious aspect these days, just what presents they're getting who and what they want. It's kinda sad. I'm not a religious person so it doesn't really affect me but at the end of the day, that's what christmas is all about, celebrating jesus' birthday. Y'know what else really annoys me, when you go christmas shopping and everyone just pushes you out the way and don't have any bloody manners. I mean a lot of people are like that normally but at xmas it's a million times worse. It makes me so angry when some 30 something year old woman barges past me hitting me with all her shopping bags in the process and doesn't even say sorry. People just go mad at christmas, like buying presents and shit is the most important thing in the whole entire world. This is what i say to people like that... <img border="0" alt="[Fuck You]" title="" src="graemlins/fuckyou.gif" />

hmm yeah but everything is milked to death. look at football and all those damn boxes that only rich people can sit in. the worst thing is the little things though i dont grudge presents in general but clinton cards want you to spend £7 bloody bucks on a nice carry christmas bag to put all your presents in for someone who doesn't care. Its all crass. Years ago you used to have to open presents on boxing day. Im not religuise either and that gives me some confidence and i do not really know why.

Coca cola made santa red when he was originally a nice hibernian green.

i also have no respect for anyone who advertises products, THATS YOU BEYONCE!!!!!!!
