Who said anything about paying for software? I think over the past year Ive paid for winamp (before they were bought into by nazi-AOL) cos its the program I use all the time and I use some of the work nullsoft has released. For graphics im "aquiring" a spark station. Ill agree with anyone who says it (Mac users, linux users, irics users; im not a racist) Mircosoft is CRAP when it comes to security, after install every bloody port under the sun is left open and your expected to close it. when sp2 comes out however, everything will be closed and you will need to open it, hopefully that should reduce the available vunrabilities.

You mentioned the processors being shit, do you have any idea how much a Mac looks like a PC under the hood now. the instruction set is nearly identical, they've completly diverted from their original processor architecture and now its nearly an x86 varient!
