French Hostages in Iraq

Two French journalists have been taken hostage in Iraq and have been told they will be executed unless France changes its law against muslim girls wearing headscarves in schools.

Firstly, this law is a heap of shit, and it should never have been allowed. Also, France is now saying they won't give in to the terrorists' demands.

But surely even a supporter of the 'headscarf ban' would see that it is worth getting rid of the law in order to save the lives of two people?

On the other hand, the hostage-takers are pricks. They dont give a shit about France's law. They only used that as their reason because they knew France didn't have any troops in Iraq. Dicks.

Anyway, your thoughts?

Just say they'll change the law, get the hostages released, and then not bother changing it.

Or just get a sniper in and kill the terrorists.

ill also say that its a shame that people feel so offended by religious dress that they have to prevent religious clothing in their schools. and its also a shame that people want to kill other people as a result of this.

i think a bit more respect all round could have prevented this située
