Bush v Kerry. First public presidential election debate

CNN are showing it tonight. Anyone else watching? i'll be taping it. I think its starts at 7pm American time but not sure so i'll have to check that out. This is a perfect opportunity for Kerry to show up Bush's complete lack of intelligence. I'll be watching this one closely.

im afraid it isnt...

the word "debate" really should not be applied to this joint press conference. and i wouldnt get my hopes up to see w get hammered... he wont.... these things are a joke, no actual debate is allowed, the host will ask completely scripted and predicably comfortable questions and the audience will clap when the sign goes on.

there are pages of rules about the so called "debate" including that the candidates cant ask each other questions.....

do you seriously think bush's pupeteers would really let him go on a show without them pulling the strings?

these "debates" are a total farce... no actual debating takes place, it is just whos face looks better on tv and who the American people prefer to see everyday on tv.

Also yeah i did kinda think to myself after posting that Bush's people would be stupid to put him on that stage without any control over what he says and does. Still, it should be usefull to see what happens.

yeh. totally...

even when bushs speeches are scripted theyre still funny and even act as further evidence that he is a muppet because he obviously doesnt understand what he is talking about half the time....

its just a shame that there will be no top quality slugging like we have in the house of commons every day

I just remember the presidential debate of 2000 where the two candidates barely differred on any topic at all.

well i was up at 3 am watching this and the key points i got were :

no mater what the question was Bush mad sure he mentioned Kerry's changeing views on the war on Iraq and the same with Kerry he couldnt help but mention the fact that Bush had rushed into war.

ANyways i found Kerry somewhat ignorant as when describeing the allied forces on several occasions he only mentioned britains name and discarded the other countires as a few other small forces which would piss me off if i were polish or Australian etc. But i still fell Kerry is the man for the job for reasons i cant be arsed typeing
