I Read An Article A Few Days Ago About Billy Saying At A Live Show That The Captures "Wanted To Get A Move On And Behead Ken Allready." I Don't Know About Everyone Else But I Didn't Find It That Disgusting. He Had A Point, They Were Flaunting Him Somthing Terrible And It Never Seemed Like They'd Do It But Sadly They Did. Anyway Yeh Can Billy Be Forgiven? Will People Come To His Shows Anymore?

He says he never said that....I belive him.....media heard something and twisted it I reckon.Just my opinion.

Its the sorta comment that quite a few people would have made in pubs and so forth and they wouldn't have been criticised. Because he is well known and his comment was part of a public show its just been blown out of proportion. Hardly gonna ruin his career but he may have lost a few fans, at least for a bit. No doubt in a couple of weeks time it will have all blown over to the general public.

Nah, it was totally twisted by the press. Connolly was trying to say that the tabloids were using the whole Bigley thing as a gross attempt to 'unite' the country.

And whoever says he's 'shit these days' should really back it up with some evidence.

if the guy hadnt been killed no one would have made a fuss. so why the fuck make a big deal cos the guy did die? i bet loads of people said something similar and id also bet that they arent being made to feel bad about it.

The use of capitals is due to the fact that he wrote the whole thing in CAPS LOCK but due to the forum not allowing a complete txt in the higher case it was reduced automatically to a capital letter at the beginning of each word and lower case following.

BTW i do not think b.c. was out of hand, i think its either been twisted or taken the wrong way.

it was probably twisted by the media or taken out of context, but even if it wasnt he shouldt get all that stick for making comment in his act anyway. as thats what comedy is sometimes for, making light of serious situations, like saying its better to laugh about something than cry about it

STATEMENT REGARDING REPORTS OF REMARKS FALSELY ATTRIBUTED TO BILLY CONNOLLY ABOUT KEN BIGLEY

Billy Connolly is angry and disgusted by reports that he joked about Ken Bigley being harmed.

Billy's stage comments were restricted to pointing out the hypocrisy of some people including sections of the media faking concern about Mr Bigleys predicament while enjoying the drama of the tragedy and exploiting it for their own ends.

Like everyone else Billy Connolly is desperately saddened by the news of Ken Bigley's death and his thoughts are with the family.
