A political desicion to move the Black watch?
hmm..
Im fairly sceptical about this..... troop moving buisness but then again I am generally sceptical about many things... what do other folk think? Though sceptical people say that they are moving the troops to help the US presidency in the up and coming election.... I'm not so sure.... I think Americans might even see this as a sign of weakness and not as stregnth... or at least ones likely to vote for Dubya. |

is this perhaps because people dont give a fuck? its not as if you cant find out if you want to its such a shame... a movement could have been formed through opposition to this war.......but people just dont care enough to want to change things. |

Weren't the protests before the war the biggest the UK has ever seen? that was a movement, It's just that Blair didn't take much notice of it. |

yes but why did the movement stop there? why didnt we make the government accountable for their actions? because no one gives a shit... you know - democracy is about accountablity and Blair seems to be accountable to no one at the moment... not to his party and not to the people... its such a shame... apathy is wrecking this country Last edited by grigorip : 25th October 2004 at 03:32 PM. |

It's not as easy to keep track of the war (and therfor make educted decisions as to action) as it seems.
Its all fine and dandy to say that the government are being manipulative and going against our will. But then there is the problem that there really are millions of people in Britain who supproted the war, most people opposing the war were young people, many of whom sadly had no idea what they were protesting against and just wanted to march in a big crowd. |

the movement stopped because those organising the movement wanted it to. See the recent implotion of the StWC EC for further details, its been quite open due to leaks in the Grauniad etc.
