the Sunday morning alcohol law
Does anyone else think that this is a totally out-dated, irrelevant law?
You know, the one that says you're not allowed to buy alcohol before 12pm on a sunday. Not that im ever up before 12pm on a sunday anyway, but think of all the poor alcoholics. |

Saturday night comedowns? Makes more sense to allow early drinking on Sundays than say, Tuesdays. |

it's a religious law, based on something from christianity, but surely in this day in age it isn't neccessary?
Not that it's particularly important to buy alcohol on a sunday am, but surely it should still be available? |

Hmm yeah it is a bit daft I think- I saw some old woman getting told to put some liquor (sp?) filled chocolates back on a shelf in tesco before cause it was only half eleven
That really is taking it too far. There's a lot of shops round here with "will not sell cider before noon" signs in the windows too- that's also taking the piss... poor alcoholics! ![]() |

they have a special license. i don't know the details of it, but it allows them to open an off license to their members on friday and saturday night. noone else, even if they are in the union at that time, is allowed to use it.
