Cancer charity pressured into refusing donation

Unbelievable. Maggie's, the Scottish-based cancer charity has turned down a donation of £10,000 raised from a special showing of "Jerry Springer: The Opera", after receiving phonecalls from the Christian extremist group Christian Voice, who threatened to boycott and encourage other Christian groups to boycott their charity if they accepted the donation.

How very Christian of them.

would they refused a donation if it was from a non christian religious group? Bunch of morons, not the charity, but these so called religious followers. More like bandits and thiefs to me. They've basically stolen this money from a worthy recipient. Granted they dont have the money either, but this charity RELIES on donations for its survival.

This really pissed me off.

I think they must get quite a lot of donations from Christian groups and were worried that this would dry up if they accepted it. As you said KJ, Christian Voice have basically deprived Cancer Sufferers of £10,000 worth of help/support/research.

What kind of morons threaten charities?

Maggie's should have asked the CV for £10,000 to match the donation. Fucking arseholes.
