A high school student has shot dead nine people at Minnesota's Red Lake Indian Reservation in the worst school shooting since the 1999 Columbine massacre.

Among the dead at Red Lake High School were a male security guard, a female teacher, and at least six students including the gunman, the FBI said on Tuesday. At least a dozen others were wounded in the carnage.

Before arriving at the school, the gunman shot dead his grandfather, identified as veteran tribal police officer Daryl "Dash" Lussier, and Lussier's girlfriend at their home in Red Lake village.

so apparently the latest is that he was some Hitler admirer who posted on messageboards under the name 'Angel of Death' and opposed interracial mixing in his community

I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure as I was getting ready this morning I heard on GMTV (in the other room) something like "described as a goth... someone who plays computer games, wears dark clothing and listens to goth music"

or was that another story?

The US continue to allow this stuff to happen, they never learn from these kinds of incidents. I think it would be impossible to outlaw guns as it would make the market underground which could make the situation worse. I just feel so sorry for all the victims and their families that have to suffer at the hands these people.

There'd be mass rioting if they tried to get rid of guns in America. The south especially, is full of "America, fuck yeah" style gun nuts.

Fair play to them, if they'd rather have a much higher chance of being shot, in exchange for the ability to be able to defend themselves if they get burgled, (because burglars are made of metal and knives are totally ineffective against them), then they reap what they sow.

Oh, I forgot, they also need the guns in case the government goes evil, because y'know, guns are real effective against planes, tanks and missiles.

That's the thing that worries me. Only 6 years ago was the last time there was a serious incident. The laws have to be changed.

gunlaws dont really stop shit, i mean britain has them and look at what happened not long ago down south when those 2 teenage black girls got caught up in gang shootings, i forget the names, and also last night at the nas concert in brixton shots were fired. but yes hopefully the government in britain and usa will do *something* better to stop all the murders and massacres.
