France Scapegoat
How does everyone feel about the way the responsiblity for the breakdown in dipolmatic attempts to resove the Iraq crisis has been shifted to France for threating to use their veto? How about the wide spread demonising of the french in the american press?
Do you think the threat to veto was irresponsible? Or brave? I can't believe the way our even our government was focusing on the veto as the only cause. What about the USA's blatant disregard for UN resolutions in the first place? |

Well America uses its veto all the time, supposrting Israel is oen example and all throughout the Cold War to vote against the USSR is another, I dont see how this means "teh end fo teh UN!!111" like America seems to think.
And its not the "end fo democracy" either, it IS democracy. IF France has just abstained because they didnt want the war then that would be the US putting pressure on them, theyve stood with the viewpoint they have (even though its caused by Frances Iraqi oil contracts and nowt to do with the anti war feeling) I saw somewhere that this is the SECOND time since 1945 that France has voted against the US in the United Nations, so I think theyve every right to feel these attacks from Right Wing America are unjustified |

You should watch "FOX News" if you want some real fucking propaganda.
"War related stress is becoming a problem for many Americans, its recommended that you practice relaxation techniques such as Yoga. Meeting with others who are worried about war will only increase stress levels." Is this a "fair and just" media actively discouraging meetings which may oppose the Administration? |
