In that case, then I would agree. Religion can be a good thing, but like many things, can be a bad thing if taken to extremes.

Funny you should mention that. Recently I was thinking about the way foreigners are being treated in US/UK because of terrorist events. It's not far off the old witch trials.

the first difference i can think of is: If i dont like someone, lets say you.. I can't just go up to a policeman and say DissolveD_JameS is a terrorist with the almost certain outcome of you being killed.

Indeed. Also, it's on a much grander scale this time, as opposed to being centralised to the small town of Salem, it's going on in lots of places.

I wasn't trying to say they are the same. Just commenting on the similarity - innocent people put to death because of hysteria, religion etc.

I'm no expert but i'm pretty sure Salem wasnt the only place they had witch hunts, it's just that that's the place Arthur Miller chose to write a play about

I suppose it is sorta similar cos the Muslim militants are blowing us up cos we dont share the same beliefs as them.

The symbol of the illuminati is the all-seeing eye (a pyramid with an eye on each side), this symbol appears on one dollar notes, as does the wise-owl (symbol of freemasonry) allegedly in america there are hundreds of tiny details that are filtered thru into everyday culture stamping the illuminati or freemasonry on everyday goods and property, which we don't get over here because it's believed that brits "suss things out quicker"

there's a billion websites that can clarify these things, from the K that appears on most american goods to say that it is 'kosher' and blessed by the jews, to the fact that freemasons break almost every law ever written but are untouchable. it was even discovered (and funnily enough cut from "From Hell") that Jack The Ripper was a freemason and a nobleman and that clues, evidence and witnesses wered 'vanished'.
