Pete Doherty given community service
Firstly I dont want this to turn in 'babyshamble are shite' & 'babyshamble are the best thing since sliced bread' thread.
Pete Doherty was up in court today for over seven drug charges and was facing jail time. Instead he walked away with a 12 months community order requiring him to attend drug rehabilitation center and undergo monthly check-ups. --February 3, 2005, Doherty was arrested for assaulting documentary film maker Max Carlish --August 13, 2005, he was stopped in the airport customs at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, where customs officers found him to be in possession of a small amount of heroin. --October 2, 2005, Doherty was arrested for possession of Class A drugs and held overnight. --November 30, 2005, arrested on the alleged possession of class A drugs after police stopped his car on Cleveland Road, Ealing, W13, due to the erratic manner of his driving. --December 8, 2005, Doherty was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink or drugs. --December 18, 2005, Doherty was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs in East London. Doherty and three passengers fled, and a search of Doherty's car rendered substances believed to be heroin and crack cocaine --January 11, 2006, Pete Doherty pleaded guilty to the possession of heroin and cocaine at Ealing Magistrates' Court after being arrested by police after he was spotted driving a speeding car in west London on 30 November. --January 14, 2006, Doherty was arrested again and is being charged with allegedly driving under the influence and possession of Class A narcotics, heroin and cocaine. --January 20, 2006, Doherty pleaded guilty to possession of heroin, crack cocaine, morphine and marijuana. --January 25, Doherty was arrested twice, once at 5.40am for suspicion of possession of class A drugs after driving erratically in London, and for the second time (after being released from custody for the previous offence) at 3pm for being under the influence of class A drugs, where he was searched, and re-arrested, also in London. --January 30, 2006 Charges against Pete Doherty for driving erratically and under the influence were dropped due to lack of evidence. ^^stolen from wikipedia This has actually made my blood boil that he has got away with it. If it was random Joe Bloggs that had done all this we would have been sent away for years and surely wouldnt have been considered for drug rehabilitation center. Whats everyones views on this? Surely everyone should be treated the same reguardless of how much money you have. BBC News |

Jesus a non-celebrity would have been sent to jail ages ago. Thats shocking really. I mean possession would see people locked up and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs is a pretty major crime. Bet if he'd hit some kid he's still have walked.

I think the most interesting just how much he's fucked it up though.
I mean, 11 A* gcse's, 4 A grade A levels and getting into Oxford for English implies a real tangible intellect greater than the neanderthal scumbag he's commonly portrayed as. Then he ended up in a remarkably popular band with tons of fans and money, and a supermodel girlfriend despite being an ugly wee troll. But he still managed to fuck it up. Amazing. |
